Mastering Time Strategies to Prevent Energy Drain

Understanding the Relationship Between Time and Energy

What do you do when you feel that time is running away from you at a faster and faster pace? I have found in working with private clients over the years that as you get older, your time management demands become more complicated because of family, career, aging, habits, and errands. All these things seem to mount over the years. So, how do you make sure that you are consistently mastering time?

When clients first come to me, they often feel overwhelmed to the point where their energy has flat out stalled. They have no desire or initiation energy, clutter is mounting, and projects are unfinished. This leads to more stress and a negative self-view, which ironically leads to more lost time because they are stuck in a cycle of worry, procrastination, and clutter. My goal is to help you protect yourself from this cycle or help you extract yourself from it if you're currently in it.

Mastering Time: 10 Key Strategies to Improve Your Relationship with Time

To start turning your ship around and managing your time better, here are a few ideas:

1. Develop a Winning Mindset:
Have an open mind about changing your relationship with time. If you think you’re always losing out or always late, that will become your reality. Shift your mindset to one where you know you can succeed and learn to manage your schedule better.

2. Keep Your Eyes on Your Own Material:
Avoid spending time and energy comparing yourself to others. Focus on your own goals and achievements. This saves energy and helps you create a more fulfilling life.

3. Use Your Intuition:
Stop overthinking and trust your inner knowing. Overthinking creates unnecessary hurdles. Let your intuition guide you to make things easier and conserve your mental energy.

4. Develop Your Readiness:
Practice the skills you want to master. Whether it’s public speaking or another goal, putting yourself out there helps speed up your expertise and boosts your confidence.

5. Don’t Anticipate Obstacles:
Avoid predicting negative outcomes. This type of thinking wastes precious present moments and creates unnecessary anxiety. Focus on creating a vibrant and successful future.

6. Anticipate Your Own Success:
Visualize your success and practice positive thinking. This habit helps you build momentum and accumulate successes.

7. Utilize Support:
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Collaborating with others can elevate your energy and confidence.

8. Find Joy in What You Do:
Align your work and activities with your passions. Joy in your day helps you manage your time and energy better.

9. Believe in Your Worth:
Patch any holes in your self-esteem bucket. Doubting yourself is a significant energy drain. Work on building a strong, healthy self-belief.

10. Invest in Time-Saving Resources:
Invest in tools, programs, or support that helps you save time and improve your organization.
