When we stop doing what we need to do for an extended period of time, a general malaise results.  Our stress is no longer about the one thing that got us started procrastinating; it develops into a broader sense of dread and stagnation.  Possibilities and options seem to shrink.  Energy and motivation sag.  At this point, there are two options: continue with on-going dread and stagnation or choose the stress that happens when we make a change.  I always, of course, recommend that patients opt for change.  Invariably, if people make one small change (and then a few more), they feel better.  Quickly.  Remember that choosing not to make a change is just as much a “choice” as doing something that feels daunting to you.

Has your Procrastination caused you to feel unable to tackle new challenges?  What small change can you do (yup, right now) to get yourself to move forward again?
